Rasna Kohli

Rasna Kohli, a celebrated baker from Dehradun, India, commenced her educational journey at the prestigious Welham Girl’s School, renowned for its distinguished reputation. It was during her time at this institution that Rasna’s extraordinary talent in art blossomed, earning her the esteemed Excellence in Art. This pivotal recognition ignited a passion for creativity within her. Motivated by challenges, Rasna pursued her academics with determination, ultimately gaining a master’s degree in English literature. She soon met her husband, Himmat Kohli, and took responsibility for caring for her two children.

In December 2011, Rasna experienced a life-altering accident that confined her to a bed for 4-5 months. With a fractured fibula and a dislocated ankle, she was cut off from social interactions and restrained from stimulating activities. Rasna invested time in mesmerizing cake videos she discovered on TLC. Inspired by the creative process, she decided to pick up her paintbrush and unleash her artistic abilities.

Determined to break free from the limitations imposed by her physical condition, Rasna started painting. Eventually, she was able to showcase her artwork in an exhibition. All her paintings were sold out, marking a turning point in her journey. The immense success of her collection allowed for a sense of motivation and rekindled her passion for artistic expression.

Rasna’s journey has had support from her husband, Himmat Kohli. Recognizing her potential, he encouraged her to pursue her dreams and pushed her to enroll in the women’s entrepreneurship program at IIM in Bengaluru. Eager to expand her skill set, Rasna attended an intensive course in Delhi for cake decorating which served as a stepping stone for her pursuit of her master’s degree in London. Throughout her journey, Rasna’s inner happiness has been the driving force, moving her forward. She achieved fame not by leveraging social media handles but through her talent and passion, becoming a topic of conversation. Rasna consistently emphasizes the support she receives from her loving husband, in-laws, parents, and children, Tejveer and Surina, who genuinely understand and appreciate the significance of her work. She started her career by crafting wedding cakes. Rasna’s exceptional talent led to numerous awards, including the prestigious silver prize from Wedding Sutra, recognizing her as the best wedding cake influencer. She has worked for distinguished individuals such as King Charles, Queen Camilla, Anita Dongre, Brian Lara, and many more.

Rasna expressed that her goal is to contribute to creating happiness in someone else’s life. She firmly believes that there is no specific age to begin this journey. Rasna also acknowledges that women are blessed with multiple talents, and it’s all about discovering and nurturing those talents that pave the way for a successful future. As a fortunate Indian woman, she has received abundant support from those around her. When asked about her message to young women entrepreneurs, she says, “You will never know the many talents you hold until you try.”
