Patricia Frontal

“Just like hair holds memories, nails hold connections." This is what Patricia Frontal has made the base of her business. Patricia is currently a high school student who has stepped into the world of nail art. Her portfolio consists of an array of designs, including characters such as "Olaf The Snowman" to "CareBears." Patricia’s art reflects her creativity, and her business is both challenging and rewarding. Her primary goal and driving force of her business is to instill a level of confidence in her clients and make them feel like the best version of themselves. This talented artist's story started with the help of two critical figures in her life: her mother and cousin. They both encouraged her to pursue her artistic passions and express her imagination.

In the beginning, Patricia struggled with the challenge of balancing her academic career and business. She dealt with multiple stress factors, such as the pressure of college prep and her academic workload, which significantly affected her mental health. However, her art lets her establish the "go with the flow ̈ mindset. Contrary to what most people would believe, Patricia's motivation behind her work is not money. In fact, she stated, "Many people believe that when they ask a nail artist [for] advice, they will give an expensive recommendation, but I focus on how my customer feels about the outcome." She emphasizes how her mindset is mirrored through her work and the relationship she has with her clients. Patricia has inspired numerous young women throughout her journey, encouraging them to start their businesses and pursue their passions. When asked about her most memorable story throughout her journey, she speaks about a fellow student who discovered her business and requested Patricia to design her nails for her Quinceañera. This special event gave Patrcia a feeling of immense pride and confidence as it showed her how much customers trusted her with their nails for such occasions.

To manage time between her family and clients, Patrcia stresses the importance of staying organized while making compromises at times. As her work became more demanding, she found comfort with her family, friends, and boyfriend, who all helped her stay consistent and confident while juggling between school and work. Patricia strives to become a celebrity nail tech in the future, inspired by the videos of other nail techs doing the nails of celebrities such as Cardi B and Nicki Minaj. She believes understanding clients' preferences and adjusting to their needs can result in a close relationship, and she enjoys being a comfort person for many of her customers. Although Patricia has had several uplifting moments in her career, she has faced criticism and moments of self-doubt during the initial stages of her business. She believes these moments pushed her towards personal growth.

Working towards her future goals, Patricia always makes sure she stays on top of the latest trends and styles, looking forward to bettering her skills as a nail tech to satisfy her clients. Additionally, she values her platform which allows her to showcase her creativity and wishes to encourage other individuals to pursue their passions as well. She emphasizes that although it may be difficult in the beginning, perseverance and staying passionate about what you are doing will help you succeed, no matter your challenges. When asked about advice she would give other women starting a small business; she said, "to be your [own] inspiration and continue to pursue your passion regardless of the ups and downs because sometimes all you need is to step out of your comfort zone."
